Raimi Rundle Obituary, Death: The Menomonie, Wisconsin community is in mourning following the tragic deaths of Raimi A. Rundle and her husband, Ross R. Nelson, who perished in a plane crash on April 19, 2025. The couple, both 45 and 46 years old respectively, were among four individuals killed when their Cessna 180G aircraft struck power lines and crashed into a field near Trilla, Illinois, approximately two hours east of Springfield. The plane had departed from Menomonie and was returning from Nashville when the accident occurred around 10:15 a.m.

Raimi was known for her compassionate nature and was a supportive presence in the community. A friend of the family shared that Raimi had a “very big heart” and was incredibly kind, especially during challenging times. Her loss is deeply felt by all who knew her. Ross was a well-known figure in the Menomonie area, particularly within the local aviation community. Bruce Trimble, a fellow pilot, described Ross as a “very nice guy” who spent considerable time at the airport, often enjoying cookouts with friends and family. Trimble emphasized that Ross was not just a pilot but someone who brought people together, making the loss even more poignant for the community.

In honor of Raimi and Ross, a Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at Lucette’s, located at 910 Hudson Rd, Menomonie, WI 54751-1748.
